Is This You?
You have a diagnosis, a list of diagnoses, or maybe you have undiagnosed illness. You aren’t happy with what most medical providers have been able to give you. You want to actually get well, not manage symptoms with pills for the rest of your life as your health just gets worse and worse. You have worked hard to get healthier but you have not found anything that is giving you the results you want.
But you won’t give up on yourself. You are determined to live a long, happy life with a strong body and mind.
Controlling chronic symptoms with medication without addressing the underlying causes of illness is like turning off the fire alarm while ignoring a burning pot on the stove. Symptoms are your body’s way of telling you that something is wrong so that you can stop the damage that is occuring.
What is happening to your body as your illness continues day after day, month after month, and year after year? What is happening to your relationships, your career, and your happiness as you struggle? Where will you be in ten years if you don’t get to the bottom of your illness soon?
My Approach
I know what it feels like to be vulnerable and ask for help, and I know how important it is to be treated with true care.
I am a health care partner for patients who seek empowerment. I want you to share your whole story with me and trust me with your difficulties and insights. I want to know what you’ve tried and what you are curious about. You are the expert and the driver of your own life, and I am here to help you discover what you need in order to thrive.
I believe that our bodies are determined to be healthy. There are certain things that we all need and there are things that we come to need because of our particular circumstances. We get well when we respect our own biology and meet our bodies’ needs.
What does this mean? I want to help you reduce your need for medicines of all kinds and become your own best healer.
I choose to work closely with a small number of patients, rather than working in a conventional healthcare setting, because this allows me to connect with patients and provide a deep level of service. Without reservation, I can promise to give you more individualized care, time, and attention than any health care provider you’ve ever had. Before your first appointment I will have already spent hours reviewing your history and considering what we might be able to do together to uncover and address your needs. I will investigate any lab work you share with me and any that we decide to order together. I will listen to what you know and share my knowledge with you. I will continue detailing, rethinking, and analyzing your health story as long as you are in my care.
In addition to meetings in my office and via video conferencing, I offer house calls for those interested. Meeting you on your turf, where you are surrounded by evidence of the person you’ve worked to become, and where your needs and resources are made clear, helps me to help you.
Are We a Good Fit?
I love helping people get well, but I am not the right health practitioner for everyone.
I would be glad to work with you if:
You have issues with your health that I can help with
You are determined to learn and grow
You understand that science is about questioning, exploring, and discovery rather than trusting prevailing narratives and conforming to social pressures
You know that your body has wisdom and power far beyond the reach of any science
You are ready to take personal responsibility for meeting your biological needs so that healing can take place from within
You are willing to make changes, knowing that they can be difficult
You are willing to keep trying, especially when you fail or encounter new obstacles
I am not the right fit for you if:
You are looking for a quick fix to complex health issues
You want an authority figure to tell you what to do
You cannot be fully honest or work collaboratively
You’re not willing to eat a diet based on meat (beef, chicken, pork, lamb, rabbit, fish, etc), including animal fat
You work with other “alternative” healthcare providers who prescribe supplements or medications
You’re not ready to commit to new habits that will allow you to heal on a deep and sustainable level, such as changing your diet and stopping specific supplements, medications, and intoxicants
You do not believe that you can become healthy
Having me as a partner in your healthcare means you will be asked to put in effort. After all, health issues rarely develop overnight and typically require considerable time and effort to reverse. Patients who do commit to the work of changing lifestyle habits are often surprised at how much smoother their lives become as a result. They carry the knowledge and skills they learned in the process for the rest of their lives.
